Mind Flight is a 2D sidescrolling endless runner game developed using Adobe Flash.

The Player  takes  control of a Prisoner that is trying to escape from his prisony imagining to fly a way on a Paper Airplane.

More the player get far flying away from his condition more the music will grove and get excited according to the score.

In this project I was the Artist and Designer, but I also script the level design system.

Where the art comes from...

My main role in the team of Mind Flight was 2D artist and I had the duty to create the assets to describe the world of the Prisoner.

In order to achieve an appealing and unique art style I pitch the Idea to my team mates to use this sketchy drawing technique that I prototype doing this artwork of the Hotel Balmoral In Vancouver BC.

The main theme was rock and roll music and freedom so we decided that using Hastings Street has a main reference was going to be perfect and rapresentative.

Starting from this point I change the time going back to the fifties to achieve a more vintage and charming style that was making working togheter the rock and roll, the watercolor style and the mechanics.

Another Interesting aspect of the project was the faked perspective that I prototype for the game.

Using some simple visual tricks like parallaxing the assets in the back ground and making the obstacle change perspective in real time we have been able to achieve on a 2D engine a 3D feeling for the player.

In the following gallery you can see the obstacles in their different perspectives.
